Welcome to my guide to Blackstock Country Estate Weddings.
This stunning Sussex wedding venue is set in the beautiful rolling South Downs is located within a 45 minute drive of Brighton. Blackstock is an easy to reach idyllic country escape.
They host ceremonies, receptions and events in two cosy barns that date back to the 16th century (The Tudor Barn and The Granary), which are surrounded by 70 acres of breathtaking estate. Rustic and rural, yet refined and romantic, the barns are surrounded by open meadows and peaceful lakes. You can even spot wild deer on the grounds, among other wildlife roaming freely.
For receptions, conferences and parties they have licensed bars, the capacity for live music and can provide top-quality bespoke catering.
The venue is licensed for weddings and civil ceremonies for up to 120 guests - historic churches are located nearby.
The Tudor Barn
Over 500 years old with ancient oak structural timbers, this fully restored barn is a surprisingly large space that is suited to dining, dancing and more. It incorporates ancient oak structural timbers, large chandeliers made from antique cartwheels and romantic lighting. There’s a fully refurbished minstrel’s gallery and large bar too!
Tudor Barn Ceremony Wing
The ceremony wing, separated from the main Tudor Barn by a reveal curtain, is licensed for up to 120 guests. It’s a fantastic space for your ceremony, with those must-have features that you look for in a barn wedding - rustic oak beams, chandeliers and intimate lighting to create the perfect ambience for your ceremony.
The Granary
Perfect for your Wedding Breakfast with capacity for 120 guests, this converted barn oozes rustic charm. With features that include romantic ambient lighting, antique cartwheel chandeliers, and floor to ceiling glazed barn windows that open out to the courtyard. A mezzanine overlooks the barn interior - ideal for relaxing, and a great area for photos!
Outside Space
The estate has ample outside space to enhance your wedding day. Before your wedding breakfast, welcome drinks & canapés can be served in the courtyard or on the terrace amid unspoiled views of the Cuckmere valley.
Countryside Views
If you’re looking for a countryside setting, the Blackstock Estate is hard to beat. With far reaching unspoiled views of the Downs this area is idyllic, a perfect spot for wedding photos with horses and llamas roaming in the background.
Makeup Room
As someone that’s photographed ‘bridal prep’ many times, I can’t emphasise enough how important a great makeup room is to make sure that you get great photos and look your absolute best on your day. This one is comfortable, practical & looks great in photos!
