How big is an 8” by 10” Print?
I know what you’re thinking… it’s 8 inches high by 10 inches long!
But how does that print look size-wise on your wall? The picture below shows a comparison between an 8”x10” print (on the right), and a 24”x36” print (on the left).
Why are some photos cropped?
When placing an image in your shopping basket, sometimes you’ll see that the photo is being cropped.
Here’s why, and what your options are if it happens to a photo you’ve chosen…
Every photo has what’s called an ‘aspect ratio’ that describes the proportions of the photo.
For example, if a photo is 4 inches high by 5 inches long it’s aspect ratio is 4:5 (described as 4 to 5). Similarly a photo that is 8 inches high and 10 inches long has the same aspect ratio as the length of the sides are in the same proportion of 4 to 5.
So, if you want put a photo in your shopping basket that is originally in a different aspect ratio (proportion) the gallery will automatically show you the areas of the photo that will and won’t be printed.
Your options are as follows:

You can move the area around using the ‘red box’ as described in the video above to choose what will be printed, or

You can choose a different size of photo with a different aspect ratio (proportion)
