I’m delighted to introduce you to wedding boutique Bella May Bridal, run by the amazing Emily and her team!
Emily was kind enough to answer my interview questions where she shares tips, trends, and more. I love the ‘most important advice’ answer she gives (I couldn’t agree more!).
I met Emily at a bridal fair some time ago and just loved the dresses she had on display, and her ‘can’t do enough for you approach’. Exactly why I wanted to interview her!
Bella May has a stunning range of hand-picked designer wedding dresses that include beaded, lace, crepe, satin, mikado, chiffon and tulle. As you’d expect, being a bridal boutique, they also have beautiful bridal jewellery, a stunning collection of veils, wraps, boleros and gorgeous hair accessories.

Bella May Bridal is a wedding dress boutique in the heart of Mid Sussex at the base of the beautiful south downs in Hurstpierpoint.
We offer one to one private appointments alongside the brides bridal party.
We have a stunning range of handpicked designer wedding gowns from ball gowns to ‘A’ line to bohemian to modern classics. We also stock veils of all different styles, lengths and colours, gorgeous hair accessories, jewellery and bridal belts.
Your experience at Bella May Bridal is so very important to us and we want you to remember your appointment with happiness and joy.
On your wedding day make sure that you set aside a few precious minutes to spend with each other and take in your surroundings and enjoy the atmosphere together.
At the moment a lot of our brides are asking for delicate lace sleeves.
Most of our dresses are customisable and therefore we are able to add sleeves, change necklines, add/remove straps to enable you to make a completely unique dress for every bride.
We love all of our reviews. To know that a bride has taken the time to sing our praises makes us do a happy dance!
Our favourite review is when a bride comes along and tells us that we have been recommended by a past Bella May bride.
We love the enthusiasm of our brides. There is no better feeling in knowing that you have made a bride ecstatic by finding them their dream dress.
The feeling is contagious and drives us to continually meet brides expectations during their visit to Bella May Bridal.
I have been to a wedding where the bride and groom had a CD made of the soundtrack to their love story. It was a favour for each guest; such a lovely touch.
My step daughter got married at a chateau in France. It was truly magical.
The day/night before we had a hog roast and a mini party. That night there was a huge thunderstorm and it took all the power out; it brought everyone together and we all worked to get everything ready for the big ceremony.
For the wedding breakfast we all ate outside and when it began to rain we picked up the tables and ran inside to the barn where we celebrated the night away.
Such a happy and memorable few days.
We love “Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue and a sixpence in your shoe”.
We have many suggestions for our brides to honour this tradition. We have had many tiny blue bows sewn inside a brides dress for ‘something blue’.
Obviously, we love all of our dresses but we must admit we do love a traditional ball gown with tulle, lace and some sparkle and all set off with a stunning veil… truly bridal!
