Have you considered a live wedding band for your big day?
Here’s one of the best wedding music bands I’ve come across – I’m so impressed with them that I wanted to include them on my series of wedding supplier interviews!
Here, Darren of the Blue Lion Band tells me about their business, style, trends, the benefits of booking a live band for your wedding, what they love about the wedding business and more…
We’re live music experts, wedding enthusiasts, and party starters.
We’re a premium, customisable 3 to 14 piece band specialising in high-energy music for festivals, weddings, corporate events, and private functions–at a sensible price. We infuse every event with energy and fun and pride ourselves on filling dance floors.
Enjoy your day! Don’t worry that things may not go exactly to plan. Things can and will change but this is part of what makes every wedding day unique.
Along with the main band for the evening, we are finding more couples are opting for some additional music during the ceremony or drinks reception. This may be a string quartet or simply a piano player or singer/guitarist.
“I cannot rate this band any higher. Their professionalism, musicianship and performance were outstanding. Their manager was always in contact during the run up to our wedding, making sure that everything was going to plan.”
This review is one of our favourites so far, as it encompassed everything about our band including the planning beforehand to ensure the client was relaxed in the lead up to their day. Having said that, we really appreciate all the reviews we receive!
Being a part of such a special day for people is fantastic. With the more formal events having taken place earlier in the day, by the time the band plays everyone is relaxed and ready to party!
One of our brides requested some particular arrangements of piano music to walk down the aisle to. The timing of each piece and the way it built was important to her entrance. Despite the bride’s pre wedding nerves our piano player learnt them all perfectly and she was over the moon!
We also recently had a bride sing a song with the band for her guests. This is always a nice touch especially with talented clients.
There have been many! For the Blue Lion Band this almost always involves the bride and groom, along with a packed dance floor of their family and friends, dancing and singing until the end of the night!
The question of whether or not to hire a band is a common one we come across.
In our experience nothing compares to the energy and excitement of a live band interacting with the wedding guests!
Hiring the right band for your reception ensures that the dance floor will stay packed and that your guests not only remember the ceremony, but also continue raving about the wedding long after the day!
In fact many of our bookings come from previous weddings we have performed at. The Blue Lion Band also provide a DJ service as part of the booking, so essentially if you book the band, DJ music is also provided between the band sets.
For us the first dance is our favourite tradition. Most couples still have a first dance and we often learn a specific song for our clients. We take pride in learning songs that are special to the couple and we find this is a great way to kick off the evening party!
