A Timeless Northbrook Park Wedding | Meghan & Mark

That was exactly the mood Meghan and Mark wanted… nothing over-styled, nothing chasing a trend, just a day that would still feel right in twenty years.

They chose Northbrook Park the moment they walked around it – the kind of instant, unshakeable certainty engaged couples often talk about long after the contract is signed.

In the Vine Room, the beautiful fireplace dressed in white blooms became the backdrop to some of the day’s quietest, favourite moments – Meghan’s pick for the best feature of the whole venue.

The Details

Before the morning got properly underway, there was time for the small details that do all the quiet work in photographs – Jimmy Choos and perfume, the dress waiting on its hanger, armfuls of white roses and peonies, Mark’s cufflinks, and the rings that would make it all official.

Getting Ready at Northbrook Park

Meghan got ready in the on-site cottage at Northbrook Park, surrounded by her mum, her bridesmaids, and the kind of quiet morning chaos that comes with getting the bridesmaids into their dresses and everyone’s hair and make up completed on time (thank you Jessica and Claire – you were amazing!).

Two details carried extra weight among the practical ones: her late nan’s bracelet, worn on the day as a way of keeping her close, and her mum’s garter from her wedding.

First Looks with the Something Blue Crew and Bridesmaids

Before Meghan saw Mark or her dad, she had two reveals of her own. First came her “something blue crew” – the cousins who’d promised to wear blue for the day – for a burst of gasps and hugs in the cottage. Minutes later, her bridesmaids got their turn, seeing Meghan in her dress for the first time in their matching sage green.

A First Look with Dad

Shortly before the ceremony, Meghan had an exciting and emotional first look with her dad, Gavin – his face breaking into a huge smile the moment he saw her in her dress. Her mum joined them moments later, and the room dissolved into happy tears before anyone had even thought about heading to the aisle.

Mark Waiting at the Front of the Room

While Meghan finished her final preparations, Mark and his groomsmen took their places at the front of the Vine Room, and guests filed in and found their seats beneath the arched windows – order of service sheets in hand, ready for the room to fill with friends and family.

The Ceremony in the Vine Room

At half past one, Meghan walked into the Vine Room on her dad’s arm to the sound of Charlotte Kennedy’s violin, past over a hundred guests seated beneath the room’s arched windows. Celebrant Kath Miller of Higher Love Ceremonies led a warm, personal ceremony by the flower-dressed fireplace, with Meghan’s sister Sophie and Mark’s sister Zoe standing as witnesses.

Confetti and the Whole Wedding Party

As Meghan and Mark walked back up the aisle as husband and wife, confetti rained down around them inside the Vine Room. Once the room had settled, the wedding party gathered for photographs by the fireplace.

Portraits Around the Grounds

Northbrook Park’s grounds do a lot of the work in couple portraits – ivy climbing the old house, the orangery’s colonnade, and a tree-lined path guests use to reach the marquee.

The Northbrook Park Peacocks

Northbrook Park is well known for its resident peacocks, who have the run of the grounds and rarely miss a chance to steal a scene. This pair wandered past mid-portraits, one in full iridescent blue and the other a rare white peacock, both entirely unbothered by the wedding going on around them.

Drinks Reception in the Vine Room

Rain meant the day didn’t unfold outdoors as planned, so drinks after the ceremony moved into the Vine Room, where Meghan took a moment to admire her new ring and show it off to her bridesmaids.

The Wedding Breakfast

Guests picked up their napkins and waved them in the air as the bridal party arrived, then again moments later as Meghan and Mark walked into the room together – one of the loudest, warmest moments of the day.

Catering came from Taste, who know Northbrook Park’s kitchens well, serving a two-course sit-down meal followed by dessert canapes so guests could get up and mingle rather than stay pinned to their seats.

Charlotte stayed on through the meal playing live, magician Alfie entertained guests with his magic show, speeches ran long enough to raise a laugh from every table, and Meghan and Mark’s arrival at the top table – complete with special effects – became one of the day’s standout moments.

A Quick Dress Emergency

Just after the wedding breakfast, Meghan picked up a mark on her dress – so her bridesmaids swooped in to help sort it out before anyone even noticed.

Evening Portraits

As golden hour settled in, there was just enough time for a few more portraits away from the party – Mark and his groomsmen sharing cigars by the lake, and Meghan and her bridesmaids walking back up to the house.

First Dances

Meghan and Mark opened the dancing to “When You Say Nothing At All”, and Meghan followed it straight away with a second dance with her dad.

Evening Celebrations

As the light dropped, the marquee turned into a proper party – a neon “Good Times” sign, light-up LOVE letters, glow sticks handed round the dance floor, and flower girls dancing well past their bedtime. DJ Rick Davanzo of Farnham Sound & Light kept the floor full long into the night.

A June Wedding at Northbrook Park

Meghan and Mark’s day was never about following a template – it was about a venue they fell for on sight, a fireplace Meghan couldn’t stop coming back to, and a guest list of over a hundred people who danced until the lights came up. Days like this are exactly why being a Northbrook Park wedding photographer never gets old. A few days later, they were off to Mexico for their honeymoon, leaving their dogs Minnie and Mabel in charge back home.
