Surrey Wedding Venues
Surrey has some incredible venues that you’ll love. There’s a great choice of high quality venues here all with perfect backdrops for your wedding photos, many located within easy travelling distance from London.
Whether you’re looking for luxury, intimate, or larger they’re all here including an Orangery, a barn, Elizabethan and Georgian architecture, and a castle.
Here are some of my favourites - just click on the venue name to go to its website for more detailed information…
Nonsuch Mansion: One of Surrey’s most sought after venues. A stunning Georgian mansion set in 300 acres of grounds and parkland. The venue is exclusive and as such, yours will be the only wedding happening on the day. Your wedding breakfast is provided by a Michelin trained head chef, so you know it’s going to be exceptional.
Farnham Castle: This is a stunning venue on the Surrey/Hampshire border overlooking the town of Farnham. The venue isn’t all about the castle though. There are beautifully decorated and welcoming interior spaces in attached and separate buildings too, such as The Gatehouse where you’ll get ready, four licensed spaces, two C of E chapels, a choice of reception rooms, a honeymoon suite and more. Oh, and five acres of gardens too.
Nutfield Priory Hotel and Spa: This is a large building full of character, dating back to 1872. Tons of romantic features such as dark wood panelling, ornate ceilings, stained glass windows and original fireplaces. A choice of three suites for your ceremony with capacity ranging from smaller (20) up to 100. You wouldn’t know it from the front of the Priory, but there are stunning views of Nutfield Ridge from the gardens at the rear.
Ravens Ait Island: Fancy getting married on an island? You can in Kingston-upon-Thames, Surrey! This two acre island wedding venue specialises in providing a bespoke service for your wedding. As they say “Every wedding held here is created based on the couple’s specific vision and ideas”. You and your guests will be ferried to the island, naturally! Options for your wedding include a marquee on the lawns, their Britannia Suite, and Thames Suite, both licensed for civil ceremonies. Capacity for up to 250 guests. Have your wedding breakfast and following celebrations here too.
Gorse Hill: A lovely Edwardian mansion house dating back to 1912, set in 17 acres of countryside. They have capacity for Civil Ceremonies for up to 90 guests in the mansion house or up to 150 in their Garden Suite. Immaculately manicured gardens for lovely photos, a gorgeous honeymoon suite, and 67 cozy guest rooms. Very close to Woking with great road links, but a peaceful location. Definitely one to check out.
Northbrook Park: A grade II listed 18th century Manor House set in 120 acres of countryside on its own estate. There’s capacity for up to 250 guests at your wedding ceremony, breakfast and reception. If you like the sound of walled gardens, manicured hedges, lakes, peacocks and guinea fowl this might be the perfect place for you. So much potential for your wedding photos with a great choice of backdrops.
Kew Royal Botanic Gardens: Still in Surrey, but close to London. For an unforgettable, iconic setting for your wedding, the botanical gardens offers stunning locations for your wedding. Choose from Cambridge Cottage for a more intimate gathering, or perhaps the grand settings of the Temperate House, the Nash Conservatory, or the Princess of Wales Conservatory, The Orangery, and more. There’s a wider range of options and venues to choose from than you might imagine. A short paragraph can’t do this venue justice. Make sure to head over to their website for fuller details.
Botleys Mansion: Yet another stunning venue! An elegant mansion with a sweeping stone staircase from the ‘house’ to the grounds. Surrounded by 56 acres of picturesque parkland, and pretty grounds. There’s so much to like about this venue from the impressive driveway, to the impressive decor that carefully mixes historical features with modern additions. Capacity ranges from 50 to 200, with flexible space in the house to fit your needs.
Great Fosters: An Elizabethan country house hotel set in 50 acres of formal gardens and parkland that include a Japanese bridge, a lake, and a Saxon moat! Perfect for wedding photos. Have your ceremony in the orangery, and your wedding breakfast in the Tithe Barn which is, naturally, full of character. If you’re looking for an outdoors ceremony, the Archery Pavilion is set in their lovely gardens - you would stand inside the Pavilion while your guests are seated on the lawn.
RHS Garden Wisley: If you’ve been to RHS Wisley you’ll already know what a unique location this is for your wedding day. There are a range of locations/venues here perfect for a smaller wedding of say 10 guests, ranging up to 250. You really need to see photos of the amazing Glasshouse to appreciate its size, setting and glass structure - incredible. As well as the Glasshouse, you can choose from the Glasshouse Cafe, the Terrace restaurant, the Garden Room, and two very pretty pavilions. And, of course, the 240 acres of landscaped gardens is impressive too.
Stanhill Court: This is a very charming 1881 Manor House overlooking the Surrey Hills whilst also surrounded by ancient woodland. Close to Gatwick airport, your ceremony can be inside the manor or in the grounds. Features such as the impressive wooden staircase and the full length stained glass windows make a perfect backdrop for your wedding photos. As well as an outdoor amphitheatre with capacity for 1500, you have 12 function rooms to choose from. Make sure to ask about the Orangery and the Antonia Suite. Maximum capacity indoors for 140 guests.
Cain Manor: Entrance to the manor via their long winding driveway is the perfect entrance to this barn style country house. As you’d expect, there are lovely period details such as oak floors and beams - which have been sympathetically combined with modern styles. Wild flower meadows and manicured feature gardens provide a lovely backdrop. They have capacity for 123 at your wedding breakfast, with indoor and outdoor options for your ceremony and celebrations including a gazebo, an oak beamed music room, the library, and a patio. A gorgeous bridal suite and 12 additional guest rooms.
Marden Park Mansion: Near the Kent/Surrey border, the mansion is approached by a two mile long sweeping driveway through a 700 acre estate. Licensed for up to 130 at your civil ceremony, with impressive reception rooms for the different parts of your day, they also have a Catholic chapel with stained glass windows. Photo-wise, the grand stone staircase makes a perfect location.
Pennyhill Park Hotel and Spa: Perfect for a both a smaller more intimate wedding in their classical library with its traditional style, working fireplaces, and large original windows, or something much larger for 240 in The Balmoral. There a total of seven suites to suit your particular wedding requirements. The Terrace Pavilion has an absolutely stunning view across the treetops and countryside with elevated seating for your guests - a really unique setting that would be perfect for a summer wedding.
Langshott Manor: A 4 Red Star 3 Rosette manor hotel with their award winning Mulberry restaurant makes this is a great choice if you love luxury and amazing food. With its Elizabethan Grade II listed architecture the kerb appeal is second to none. As well as the option for your ceremony in their Mulberry Suite, you can exchange your vows outdoors in front of their moat, with features such as the vine adorned aisle an added bonus. Capacity for up to 60 guests at your ceremony and wedding breakfast, and another 40 in the evening.
Denbies Wine Estate: This is England’s largest vineyard, with the venue itself set within 265 acres of vines. This venue is all about the views, photos with stunning backdrops, and wine. The views are far reaching and include the vineyard, of course, Box Hill and the North Downs. When combined, the Conservatory Atrium and Garden Room can accommodate parties with between 80 and 400 seated guests. The Gallery Restaurant, complete with breathtaking panoramic views of the vineyard, can seat between 30 and 60 guests.
