If you’re planning a wedding at Trading Boundaries in Sussex and are looking for a Sussex wedding photographer this real wedding will give you a genuine feel for how a day here can look and feel. Set on the edge of Ashdown Forest, Trading Boundaries is one of the most unique wedding venues in Sussex, known for its relaxed atmosphere, colourful details and iconic marquee space.
From a laid-back morning getting ready through to an emotional first look, a beautiful ceremony and an incredible evening party, this wedding shows exactly why so many couples fall in love with this venue.
As a Trading Boundaries wedding photographer, I focus on capturing natural moments as they happen — the real reactions, the atmosphere, and everything in between — so you can relive the story of your day exactly as it felt.
Some weddings just feel like a warm hug. Angel and Aryan’s day at Trading Boundaries was exactly that.
They were most looking forward to spending the day with their families — and, of course, each other. Oh, and the ice cream van. They hired one for the reception, and yes, it was a big deal.
Their wedding decor was all about colour, flowers, and being outdoors. They chose Trading Boundaries for its character — from the unique interiors to the elephant statues dotted around the venue — combined with the relaxed, outdoor feel that makes it so different from more traditional Sussex wedding venues.
Their favourite thing about the venue? It just felt like home. Comfortable, relaxed, and completely their own.
Weddings at Trading Boundaries have a very different feel to more traditional venues. The day tends to flow naturally between indoor and outdoor spaces, with guests relaxing in the gardens before heading into the marquee for the ceremony and evening celebrations. From a photography point of view, the mix of textures, colours and lighting makes it an incredibly versatile venue throughout the day.
Angel and Aryan did not hold back here. Their day included…
There was something for everyone, all day long. That kind of thought goes a long way with guests.
Two moments were planned to really stop people in their tracks.
Angel walking down the aisle. And then the couple coming back as Mr and Mrs.
Simple. Powerful. And when those moments came, they delivered.
Trading Boundaries is a brilliant spot for wedding photography. The grounds give you so much to work with.
When a couple feels comfortable, the photos show it. Angel and Aryan were relaxed all day. That comfort came through in every single frame.

If you are thinking about getting married at Trading Boundaries, here are some things worth knowing before your big day.
Plan your ceremony and portraits outside if the weather allows. The garden areas and natural backdrops make for beautiful wedding photos.
Make the most of the venues’ blend of elegant English style with unique twists of rustic India. Every corner of the venue is infused with colourful features.
This is not a stiff, formal venue. It has a laid-back feel. Let your day match that. Guests will feel it too.
The elephant statues, the quirky touches, the flowers. These details tell your story.
Late afternoon light at Trading Boundaries is gorgeous for outdoor portraits. Try to plan a short photo walk around that time if you can.
I always talk through a photography plan with you prior to your wedding. Knowing the space inside and out means that no time is wasted on the day.

How long does wedding photography at Trading Boundaries take?
Coverage time varies by couple. Most full-day packages run from getting ready to the first dance. Portrait sessions in the garden usually take around 20 to 30 minutes.

It depends on your guest numbers and how much detail you want covered. For larger weddings, a second shooter helps capture more of the day at once.

The first look with Angel’s Dad was one of those moments that just stops everything for a second – emotional, genuine, and completely unscripted.

If the weather doesn’t play ball, the ceremony at Trading Boundaries takes place inside the marquee, which creates a really intimate atmosphere while still feeling light and open. It’s one of those spaces that works beautifully for photography, with soft natural light and plenty of room for guests to feel part of the moment. On a dry day the ceremony takes place outside on the lawns to the rear of the venue.

One of the reasons I love photographing weddings at Trading Boundaries is how much variety you get in such a small space. From colourful backdrops to quieter corners, it gives you loads of options without taking couples away from their guests for too long.
The drinks reception had such a fun, relaxed vibe, and the ice cream van was a huge hit with guests. We took a short walk around the venue for a few relaxed portraits, making the most of the different textures and colours around the venue.

The speeches brought a real mix of laughter and emotion, which always makes for some of the best moments to capture.
Later on, the cutting of the cake was a blast!

As the evening got going, the space transformed into a packed dance floor with an incredible atmosphere.

Once the dance floor opened, it didn’t take long before everyone was involved.

Days like this are exactly why Trading Boundaries is such a special place to get married – relaxed, full of personality, and completely focused on the people.
