Paul & Clare’s Rustic Barn Wedding at Cissbury Barns near Worthing

Paul and Clare’s Sussex barn wedding at Cissbury Barns, at the foot of the South Downs just north of Worthing, was amazing!

They wanted a rustic themed wedding because of their love of the outdoors. The two flint barns with their wooden beams were one of their favourite features, and a perfect fit.

As Clare and Paul put it, the thing they were most looking forward to was sharing the day with their family and friends.

Bridal Prep and a First Look at Findon Manor

Bridal prep took place at the nearby Findon Manor. Bridesmaids in burgundy, a pair of pink trainers and all the little details that made the day feel personal.

Then came an emotional first look with Dad. It’s one of those moments I love capturing, quiet, real and completely unposed.

Arriving at Cissbury Barns in a VW Campervan

Next stop, the barns, in a vintage VW campervan. Earlier in the day it had already taken Paul, Dad and his best men from home to Cissbury Barns.

A Ceremony in the Flint Barn

The ceremony took place inside one of the flint barns, with guests seated either side of the aisle under the old wooden beams.

Portraits on the South Downs

With the South Downs right on the doorstep, there was plenty of space for group photos and couple portraits. Paul and Clare were up for some coloured smoke too, which suited their fun, relaxed style perfectly.

Hog Roast, Pizza and a Rustic Wedding Cake

As part of the relaxed vibe Paul and Clare wanted, the wedding breakfast was a hog roast. A wood-fired pizza oven came out later to keep everyone going into the evening.

First Dance and the DJ Battle Jam

After their first dance to Feeder’s ‘Feeling A Moment’, guests gathered with sparklers in the courtyard.

Then came one of the highlights of the day, the ‘DJ Battle Jam’. Paul and Clare were sooooo excited about it! This was the part of the day where they really wanted to WOW their guests, and it didn’t disappoint.

They battled it out on the decks, each choosing their favourite drum and bass tracks to see who could win the crowd over. Here’s the thing, the guests had no idea what was about to happen. They’d both kept it a closely guarded secret!

To say the party really kicked off at this point is an understatement. Just brilliant! Thank goodness for that pizza to keep everyone fuelled up.
