Avoid Overheating on your Wedding Day

A Fun-Filled Celebration at a Stunning Sussex Venue

Adam and Emily’s wedding at Highley Manor was anything but traditional!

This fun-loving couple was most looking forward to mingling with their guests after saying “I do.”

They wanted their big day to be full of joy without sticking to the usual wedding timeline.

Talk about flipping the script – instead of a first dance, they took over the DJ booth! They used Stick It On where they and their guests became the DJs for the night. How cool is that?

Unique Wedding Moments That Made Amazing Photos

The cake cutting happened in the main foyer rather than on the dance floor (which is unusual for Highley Manor). Their guests gathered behind them and lined the staircase to watch the sweet moment.

But the real showstopper…

Instead of regular confetti, Emily had made over one hundred mini pompoms – now called “pomfetti”!

Right after cutting the cake, everyone tossed them at the happy couple. With guests circling them and filling the staircase, we captured truly one-of-a-kind photos of this joyful pomfetti shower!

The Perfect Setting for Wedding Photography

Highley Manor near Haywards Heath offers so many spots for gorgeous wedding photos. The grounds are simply stunning with…

  • The Pavilion which is great for an outdoor ceremony, your group photos and more
  • Beautiful gardens perfect for romantic couple portraits
  • A swing suspended from a tree – great for fun relaxed photos
  • A grand staircase for dramatic photos of the two of you
  • Elegant interior spaces with tons of natural light
  • A ‘secret garden’ area perfect for private moments and couple’s photos
  • A gorgeous area just down the hill for more natural, relaxed images
  • Stunning views of the Sussex countryside at the back of the venue

This wasn’t my first time capturing special moments at this venue. Check out Jess and Jonny’s wedding at Highley Manor to see more examples of this amazing location!

4 Tips for Planning Your Own Highley Manor Wedding

  1. Schedule time to use the grounds for your photos – There are so many photo spots, make sure to build time into your day to use them all!
  2. Consider the season – Spring and summer weddings can take advantage of the terrace and grassed areas, while autumn brings gorgeous golden colors.
  3. Plan for rain backup options – The manor has beautiful indoor spaces if the weather turns, so don’t stress!
  4. Keep group photos simple – With so many beautiful backdrops, you don’t need complicated poses. For more tips, check out my group photos advice.

Making the Most of Highley Manor’s Unique Features

The grand staircase makes for amazing photos – make sure to use it! Whether for group shots or just the two of you, this architectural feature creates stunning images.

The grounds offer both manicured gardens and more natural areas. This gives you variety in your wedding album without having to travel between locations.
